Welcome to St Edward's Primary School, Tamworth
St Edward's Primary School is a catholic school situated in the Armidale Diocese. Our school has 2 large dedicated campuses for both our Infants and Primary students. Well equipped with sheltered outdoor facilities and safe environments.
At St Edward’s we are proud of the holistic education offered where every child has the opportunity to develop their full range of potential.
The children at St Edward’s School follow the New South Wales Board of Studies Curriculum. The curriculum covers a broad range of learning areas known as the Key Learning Areas or KLA’s.
Why Choose St Edwards Primary School Tamworth
- Staff & Community:
St Edward's is a partnership between our staff members and parent community, where our committed and qualified staff members work closely with parents. We welcome our parents and associated families to be part of our school. At St Edward’s we are proud of the holistic education offered where every child has the opportunity to develop their full range of potential.
The students enjoy excellent facilities and high teaching standards. St Edward’s boasts two well stocked libraries, a designated visual arts room, school hall, netball and basketball courts as well as large playing fields. Our large Multi-Purpose Centre located at the Primary Campus is an amazing facility that is used regularly by the students at St Edward's.
- Dual campus:
Having two campuses allows us to develop leadership and responsibility of our students at an earlier age. We are able to consider ‘big school’ ideas and still maintain a ‘small school’ friendliness.
Both campuses have new ultra modern classrooms, with Smartboards installed and the Computer Lab gives students a comfortable and positive outlook to education. In addition to the banks of IPads and Laptops, each Kindergarten student has their own personal mini Laptop.
- Extra-Curricular Opportunities:
St Edward’s boasts numerous sporting clubs and teams. Guitar and Piano lessons are offered on site and there is an opportunity to join our school choir. We also involve our students in local Eisteddfod, Debating and Chess competitions. From Kindergarten to Year 6, all children at St Edward’s have the opportunity to experience a diverse range of excursion opportunities throughout the year. All excursions are organised to enhance teaching and learning and bring the curriculum alive for children.
- Before and After Care:
Before & After School Care is run by ‘Sherpa Kids’ and is only available for students enrolled at St Edward’s School.
- Pastoral Care:
St Edward’s offers families in need assistance through our Pastoral Care program. Pastoral Care refers to the total care, concern and recognition of every individual in our school community. It is very much based on the gospel values of love – a love of God and others. The Inter-generational Exchange program with St Andrew's Village allows the children to engage with the wider community.
